On Wednesday, February 7, 2018, Emily Bullington Singleton passed away at Pendleton Manor at the age of 89 years.
A native of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Luther Vernon and Elsie Harrison Bullington. She was the widow of her beloved husband, Rudolph “Rudy” Singleton, former fire chief of Wade Hampton Fire Department.
She was a supervisor with the payroll department at Winn-Dixie, Inc. for 39 years prior to retirement. She was a lifelong Baptist, teaching Sunday school class as a member of the Piedmont Park Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving son, Darrell Rudolph Singleton. Emily will be forever remembered by her granddaughter, Stacy Singleton Morrow, and Stacy’s husband, Jason Morrow, as well as great grandsons, Austin Morrow and Christopher Morrow, and Christopher’s wife, Melissa Morrow, all of Ringgold, Georgia.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 12, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Martin Atkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Emily to the Alzheimer’s Association, 301 University Ridge #5850, Greenville, SC 29601.
