Emma Lee Benscoter

Emma Lee Benscoter, 88, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

A native of Laurens, South Carolina, Emma met her husband of 65 years, Robert, an Iowa native, while he was stationed at Donaldson Air Force Base.

She was the daughter of the late Rob and Ruth Davenport Hellams.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kenneth Benscoter (Denise), two daughters, Rhonda Snider (Bobby), and Donna Clark (Benny); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Hellams (Sandy).

In addition to her parents, and husband, Emma was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast. The funeral service will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
