Emma Pauline James Dyer, 92, devoted wife of the late Ernest Dyer, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late George and Dora Whitt James.
Pauline and Ernest met when they were youngsters riding their bikes in Piedmont. Shortly after their meeting, both families moved to the same street in Greenville – that is when they knew they were destined to be together. Over the span of 80 years, the couple rarely spent any time apart with the exception of Ernest’s deployment with the Navy.
Pauline was a member of Laurens Road United Methodist Church and was a faithful servant of the Lord. She retired from Bellsouth after many years of dedicated service.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her only son, David Dyer and wife, Christy, and Pauline’s beloved pup, LouLou Dyer.
In addition to her parents and loving husband of 73 years, Pauline was reunited in Heaven with her sisters, Betty Sentell and J. Pearl Pittman, and her brother, Billy James.
A graveside service will be held to celebrate Pauline’s life on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. in Graceland East Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Laurens Road United Methodist Church, 13 Webster Road, Greenville SC, 29607, or to the charity of one’s choice.
