Evelyn C. Hill

March 11, 1925 - January 13, 2008
Evelyn C. Hill, 82, widower of Carl David Hill, Sr., died Sunday, January 13, 2008. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Emerson Ponder and Lila Coleman Cashion. Mrs. Hill was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Senior Adult Group and worked in the nursery for 50 years. Surviving are a son, David Hill and his wife Glenda of Greenville; two grandchildren, Beth Turner and her husband David of Greenwood, and Dr. Patrick Hill of Hilton Head; two great-grandsons, Thomas and Keever Turner; three brothers, Bill Cashion and his wife Evelyn of Slater, Fred Cashion and his wife Shirley of Dacusville, and Bob Cashion of Simpsonville; and a sister-in-law, Elois Cashion of Taylors. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Cashion and Joe Cashion. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday, January 14, 2008, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 15 at 12 noon at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, where the body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
