This is sad news. Mrs. Earl was my 7th and 8th grade teacher at Hughes, and is one of my most memorable teachers. Lynn, Lou-Earl, I am so sorry for your loss. She was a remarkable lady. I used to see her at Furman on her way to OLLI classes. I hate that we are losing our best, those who remind us of who we are. She was the best.

Evelyn was a true joy. I met her in OLLI writing class where she inspired the younger folks with both her rich poetry and descriptive prose. She was a keen observer of nature and cherished her times at the beach. Evelyn and I shared a love of Maine coon cats, my two and her Squirrel.
Her cheerful personality will be missed by all in the class.
