Florence Virginia Dillard Barker

Florence Virginia Dillard Barker, 78, wife of John Paul Barker, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008.
Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Law and Jennie Hudson James Dillard.
Mrs. Barker, a homemaker, was very involved with Connie Maxwell Children's Home and the March of Dimes. She attended North Greenville Junior College, as well as Lander College, and was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Jean and husband Gill Sanchez of Greenville, Renee and husband Blake Castor of Easley; a son, John Jeffrey and wife Juanita Barker of Easley; seven grandchildren, Richard Melton, Julian Barker, Gilly Sanchez, Jessica Castor, Kelli Sanchez, Luke Barker, Cameron Castor; and three great grandchildren, Cassandra and Max Melton, Claire Barker.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Boyce and Carl Dillard. Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2008 from 12:00 – 2:45 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
The funeral service will be Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery West. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P.O. Box 1178 Greenwood, SC 29648-1178.
