Francis J. Cox, 90, formerly of Oak Leaf Village, passed away Monday, March 3, 2008. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bessie Cox and husband of the late Marie DeCaprio Cox. Mr. Cox was a retired Lieutenant with the New York City Police Department and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lantana, FL. Surviving are two daughters, Pat McCrady and husband David of Greer, and Betty Starr and husband Gene of Greer; four grandchildren, Stephanie Fenwick and husband Harry of Wellington, FL, April Starr and companion Anthony Sands of Greer, Michael McCrady of Boynton Beach, FL, and Jason Starr and wife Abbey of Greer; five great grandchildren, Nicholas Fenwick, Garrett Fenwick, Ryan Fenwick, Cameron Sands, and Isabella Sands; and a step granddaughter Adryanna Sands. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Upstate South Carolina Chapter, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 29601. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Oak Leaf Village for their kind and compassionate care. A Vigil service will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
