Frank Harold Dyar, 77, formerly of Stephanie Lane, Ridgeway, SC, died Sunday, September 25, 2005 at Martha Frank?s Nursing Home. Born in Seneca, SC, Mr. Dyar was the husband of Katharina ?Carol? Bengel Dyar and the son of the late Jesse G. and Marvin Jane Seaborn Dyar. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from J.P. Stevens. He enjoyed polka dancing and working outdoors. Mr. Dyar was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, Blythewood, SC. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sisters, Julia Huskamp, Eunice Longworth, and Ruth M. Wald, all of Mauldin, and Dueain Byars of Pickens, SC, and Omega M. Kelly of Easley, SC; three brothers, The Reverend William H. Dyar of Winston-Salem, NC, Joel R. Dyar of Seneca, SC, and Wade S. Dyar of Simpsonville, SC; two beloved friends, Ron and Patti Wood of Hickory Tavern, SC. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Jessie Lee Jennings, Wilma Freddie Dyar and Virgil Ann Dyar. Memorials may be made to Martha Franks Retirement Center, 1 Martha Franks Drive, Laurens, SC 29360.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 30, 2005 from 5:00 until 6:30 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Saturday, October 01, 2005 in the funeral home chapel. The committal will follow in Oconee Memorial Park with full military rites.
