Frank Sharp Darwin, Jr., 72, of 10 Creekside Way, died suddenly on April 3, 2008 of heart failure. He was the son of the late Hon. Frank S. and Kathleen Sulte Darwin of Chattanooga, TN. Mr. Darwin was a graduate of Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN and the University of Tennessee, BS in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduating from the University of Tennessee, he embarked on an engineering career through the 1960's and early 1970's. Later he taught mathematics and electronics at technical colleges in the Knoxville area and at Greenville Technical College, Greenville, SC. Upon retirement, he was an active teacher and participant in the Furman University Learning in Retirement FULIR Program, where he taught various courses that interested him, including chess and studies of paranormal phenomena. Surviving are his loving wife, Barbara Ann Duncan Darwin of Greenville, SC; beloved son, Frank S. Darwin, III of Greenville, SC; loving daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Duncan Darwin and Dana Cetlin of Newton, MA; beloved grandfather of Emily Darwin Cetlin and Madeline Darwin Cetlin of Newton, MA; loving sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen Darwin and Raymond Murphy of Signal Mountain, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
