Gary Thomas Grant

November 19, 1945 - January 14, 2008
Gary Thomas Grant, 62, joined his Lord on Monday, January 14, 2008. Born in Rutherford County, N.C., he was the son of the late Earl W. and Pearl Barrett Grant. A graduate of Appalachian State University, Mr. Grant was a retired construction equipment salesman in Greenville for over 30 years. He was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church. He was a loving and devoted father who was humble, hardworking and giving of his time and resources. He loved the mountains, outdoors and football. Surviving are two daughters, Emily Lauren Grant of Greenville, Ashley Barrett Grant of Charleston; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Revonda Grant of Arden, N.C.; a niece, Alyson Grant; and the mother of his children, Rebecca Steele Grant. Memorials may be made to the Fourth Presbyterian Church Youth Fellowship, 703 E. Washington Street, Greenville, SC 29601 or Boy Scouts of America, 110 York Street, Chester, SC 29706. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Fourth Presbyterian Church with visitation to follow in The Crymes Class Room. The family will be at their respective homes.
