George V Peskopos

February 16, 1944 - October 1, 2007
George V. Peskopos, Jr., 63, of 105 1st Avenue, husband of Hazel Ann McCall Peskopos, died Monday, October 1, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Simpsonville, he was the son of Katie Warlick Peskopos of Conestee and the late George V. Peskopos, Sr. Mr. Peskopos was an employee of John D. Hollingsworth on Wheels following 45 years. He was a commissioner for Belmont Fire Department and a volunteer fireman with John D. Hollingsworth. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, George V. Peskopos, III and his wife, Rhonda, of Conestee, John Craig Peskopos and his wife, Dena, of Fountain Inn; a granddaughter, Brittney Miss Bizzy Peskopos; and three grandsons, Brandon Peskopos his Sportsman, Carson Peskopos always called him ?pop? and Connor Peskopos loved for pop to read to him. This was a man that loved everyone. He enjoyed life with fishing, hunting and golfing. He was always there when anyone needed him or if he could help. He loved being with his family and enjoyed golfing with his friends. God has another plan. He needed a special angel and he will be missed by everyone. A wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and a special son to his mother. We all loved him and will miss him very much. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
