Gilbert Harrison Jones, 71, of 107 Pinehurst Drive, Taylors, widower of Louise Gibson died Thursday, March 2, 2006. Born in London, KY, he was a son of the late John B. and Margarite Alice Petree Jones. Mr. Jones was employed as a carpenter with Bob Jones University and a member of Northside Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters: Cynthia L. Bennett and her husband, Dennis of Lawrenceville, GA, Rebecca E. Cunningham and her husband, Jeff of Hixson, TN, Lorri B. Smith and her husband, Tim of Easley and Alice E. Lindsey and her husband, Blake of Baileyton, AL; five sisters: Norma Borders, June Williams and Clara Slayton of IN and Lilian Popyk and Phyllis Hedges of TN; and ten grandchildren. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a grandchild, a sister, and a brother. Memorials may be made to the USA Fund, Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC 29614. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Services will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at 1:30 PM in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family is at the home of a daughter, Lorri Smith, 105 Berkley Drive, Easley, SC 29642.
