Gloria Jean Faust, 53, of 400 Mills Avenue, Suite 223, died Sunday, August 14, 2005. Born in Columbia, SC on August 14, 1952 she was a daughter of Manning and Lucille Evans Faust. She lived in Columbia until the age of six, when her father took a job transfer to Greenville. Years later in Gloria?s own work career, her job transferred her back to Columbia. Gloria enjoyed her job as a supervisor with Roadway Express, and worked in terminals in Greenville, Columbia, and Myrtle Beach. While working in Columbia, she became a State Constable and was an active member of the South Carolina State Constable Association. After that she fulfilled her life-long dream and joined Richland County as a Reserve Deputy. She was a member of Cherrydale Church in Greenville, SC. Gloria has also volunteered for Rape Crisis of Greenville and assisted victims of assault and rape; later she became a foster parent and was trained to assist special needs infants; and donated her time to fund raisers for the Shriner?s Children?s Hospital, and the March of Dimes. Gloria is also survived by three daughters and one son; April Whitlock and her husband, James, and their four children, Haley, Lindsay, Caroline and Christopher of Greenville, SC; Tasha Wolf and her daughter, Caitlyn of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; Tricia Leventis and her husband, George, Jr., and their two daughters, Zoe and Marley of Taylors, SC; and Joshua Brown of Travelers Rest, SC. Gloria?s four children and seven grandchildren were her most precious joy, and the love of her life. Surviving in addition to her parents, children, their spouses, and grandchildren, are two sisters and two brothers; Kathy Jones and her husband, Chuck, of Auburn, GA; Linda Schaalma and her husband, Wayne, and their daughter, Britney of Travelers Rest, SC; Levon Faust and his wife, Nancy, and their daughter, Ashley of Greer, SC; Donald Faust and his wife, Trisha, and their children, Kelli and Ryan of Mauldin, SC. Gloria is predeceased by one brother, Larry Faust. Gloria is also survived by other nieces and nephews from previous marriages. She is also survived in Columbia by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:30 ? 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Scott Faust, Ray Faust, Cecil Gaffney, Randy Whitlock, Michael Foster and Gabe Leventis. Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Rabon. Support group members of the SC Ovarian Cancer Foundation will also be honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation, 706 E. Washington Street, Greenville, SC 29601. The family will be at the home of the oldest daughter, April Kris Whitlock at 800 Saluda Lake Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
