Grady Barron Culbertson, 96, of Greenville, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, February 12, 2024.
Born in Taylors, South Carolina, he was the youngest son to the late R.B. and Annie Taylor Culbertson.
Grady met Doris while in school, became high school sweethearts and married after graduation. They celebrated 63 loving years together. He was the most wonderful son, brother, husband, father, papa, and grand-papa. He loved spending time with his family and creating memories like driving in the snow and singing in his barber shop quartet.
He had a wonderful career starting at Harper Brothers as a purchasing agent and then becoming vice-president. He then went on to work for Forms and Supply in the same position and went on to open their Greenville office. Combined he served in the industry for 53 years.
Grady was faithful to his Lord and Savior and became ordained as deacon at an early age. He served as a deacon as well as Sunday School teacher and Bible Study leader while a member of Laurel Baptist Church, Eastlan Baptist Church, Five Forks Baptist Church. He was teaching Bible Study up until last week. He only worked so he could serve Jesus and provide for his family.
His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loving children, Larry Brandt Culbertson and wife, Brenda Livingston Culbertson, and Barbara Lou Culbertson; five amazing grandchildren, Brandt Wesley Culbertson and wife, Gypsy, Adrian Leigh Culbertson Summers and husband, Eric, and Annie Elizabeth Segrest and husband Andrew Meeker; five great grandchildren, Walt Patterson, Caelyn Leigh Summers, Abigale Grace Summers, Ryland James Summers, and Julian River Meeker Segrest.
In addition to his parents and his loving wife, Doris, Grady was preceded in death by his brothers, Ryland Brandt Culbertson, and Ralph Edsel Culbertson; and sister-in-law, Anne Brownlee Culbertson.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at Five Forks Baptist Church.
