Hallie Queen Grant, 91, wife of Roy M. Grant, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Forest City, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Raymond Leonard and Georgiana Whitner Queen Mrs. Grant was retired from K-Mart and was a member of Dunean Baptist Church, where she was a GA Leader, a teacher in the Beginner Department, a member of the Myra Parks Sunday School class, the adult choir and the W.M.U. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 72 years, are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty and Jack Scruggs of Knoxville, TN., Rachel and Milton Lovick of Kinston, N.C., Fay and Harold Moore of Greenville, Judy Stewart of Morrison, CO.; a brother, George Queen of Phoenix, AZ.; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters; four brothers; and a great grandson. Memorials may be made to Dunean Baptist Church, 21 Allen Street, Greenville, SC 29605. Visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Dunean Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of a daughter, Fay Moore, 201 Old Grove Road, Piedmont.
