Harmony Faith Madden, 51, of Greenville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 9, 2020.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of Johnnie Warren Madden, and the late Tommy Gleen Madden.

If you had been given the privilege of knowing Harmony Madden in her prime, you would have seen her having story time with a classroom full of young children, enjoying pool parties in the summer heat with her godchildren, or hosting sleepovers for her nieces and nephews that was always complete with a Disney movie marathon. You might have peered through the church doors to see her singing in the choir with her father Tommy at the baton, or followed her downstairs to a classroom full of eager eyes where she led children’s church lessons, crafts, and songs for over 36 years. You would have known her to be true to her name “Harmony Faith” as a peaceful woman, kind to all, and full of faith in her Savior Jesus Christ. You would have searched through the crowded Madden family get-together to find her at the kids’ table, answering to “Harmy,” wearing a Winnie-the-Pooh sweatshirt, and tending to each child’s plate and need more than her own. She was a proud graduate of Converse College (Pink Panther Class of 1990) where she found a sisterhood of friendships that stayed with her for life. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend, whose passion for sharing Jesus with young souls remained at the forefront of everything she did. She had an easygoing spirit, a steadfast faith, and a hope that all would come into relationship with her Lord and Savior.

In addition to her mother, Harmony is survived by her sisters Dorothy M. Wallen (Jimmy), and Melody M. Hand (Rev. Delton); brothers Michael Madden, and John Madden; nieces and nephews, Cathie Wallen, Justin Wallen (Kelli), Misti Konduros (Brian), Kevin Hand (Kelsey), Victoria Walls (Jesse), Brantley Madden, Blake Madden, and Brandon Madden; great nieces and nephews, Kaylin Wallen, Peryn Wallen, Hayes Wallen, Marley Konduros, Connor Konduros, Karson Hand, Karter Hand, Karolina Hand, Solomon Walls, and Aven Addison; and three godchildren, Shawna Fowler, Shawn Fowler, and Zach Fowler.

A private funeral service will be held at Park Place Church Of God, on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, by Rev. Jonny Hodges, Rev. Wallace Purvis, Rev. Kevin Hand, and Rev. Terry Sherfield. A private entombment will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church Of God Home For Children, P.O. Box 430 Mauldin, SC 29662.

Patrick, the boys and I are so sorry for your family’s loss. Although we did not have the privilege to know her in this world, it is so clear in the beautiful words and memories written about her that Harmony was a blessing to all who did. We will keep y’all in our prayers and we hope the memories of her will bring each of you comfort.

I had the privilege of getting to know Harmony mostly through the eyes of her Converse College roommates and suite mates - a group which includes my wife Katherine. Great stories. Great life long friendships. Great love for Jesus.

I did not know Harmony well. In fact, I may have only seen her a handful of times. But I have heard some tremendous stories of her faith and dedication to God. It seems a shame that such a great person would leave us so young. We are praying for the family and I know she will be greatly missed.

Harmony was very special to our family. She taught our grandchildren how to know and love God, and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. She will be missed tremendously. We take comfort in knowing sweet Harmony Madden is at home with Jesus, and her friends and loved ones who’ve gone on before. We love you, Harmony! ️

I am so sorry to hear this, but I know she is with the Lord and rejoicing in his presence. I remember when Harmony taught my daughters Sarah and Abby, they loved her so much! I am praying for you all

Shall see you again some day! You will always hold a special place in my heart and I hope that I can teach my children some day, the many lessons you taught me.

She was truly a sweet and beautiful person. We have known her for years and know how much she loved life, her church, her family, children and her love for God. We will miss your sweet smile. Love, Wayne and Nan Huskamp.

Many years ago I worked with Harmony at Bethel Day Care. Harmony was always so pleasant to work with. She was a woman of great faith. I will keep her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Harmony was a great person. Some years ago, I was privileged to work with her in the C.O.M.E program at the Park Place Church children's effort. Lives were impacted through Harmonies service.

Julie and I are honored to have known this precious Sister in Christ she will be greatly Missed. The most precious Memories of her that we remember is Her Love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and also for her Love for Family and Friends she always had a smile on her face and was always positive about everything. She was a Blessing to everyone that she came in conntact with. And was a true TESTIMONY THAT God is bigger than any problem that we face. May God bless the Madden Family in this hour of bereavement. I remember Harmony as I attended Park Place Church, Just after Bro Moore left and Pastor Sherfield became Pastor! I went to the church for a number of years and I remember Harmony singing with Johnny and Dorothy playing the piano. I always admired her very much for the christian woman she was and the faith that she had even when they said,she had a brain tumor. The testimony she had was so great. She will be missed! Praying for the family!

I dearly loved Harmony Madden. It always touched my heart to see how dedicated she was to reaching children for Jesus. I know she is rejoicing with Jesus now and will be greatly rewarded for her teaching, influence and witness.

This obit speaks perfectly of the young Harmony I remember from the years I worked at Berea and Park Place Christian Academy. She was a precious, inspiring young lady. I always knew she would accomplish great things and she did. My sympathy to all the family. The JOY of it all is we will be with her soon!

Harmony was a beautiful person inside and out. Her love for God, family and children was amazing! She was the most precious and dearest friend. I am so thankful I got to teach with her in children's church. I love you Harmony!!!
