Harold Loyd Moore

September 3, 1926 - February 24, 2007
Harold Loyd Moore, 80, of 802 South Welcome Road, owner of Harold Moore Builder, Inc., the builder of many fine homes and offices in the Greenville Area, died Saturday, February 24, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital-Downtown. Born in Greenville, he was the husband of Mary Ruth Whitmire Moore for 50 years and a son of the late David Loyd Moore and Ruth Gertrude Palmer Moore. Mr. Moore was a 1944 graduate of Parker High School and served in the U.S. Army in the 25th Infantry Division, 27th Wolfhound Regiment, on Luzon and the occupation of Japan during World War II. Mr. Moore was a member of Brandon Masonic Lodge #279, formerly Judson Lodge #319 and an active member of Welcome Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee. Survivors in addition to his loving wife, are the son, Wayne Harold Moore and his wife, Kristina Mauldin Moore and grandchildren, Claudia Gayle Moore and Nathan Harold Moore, all of Greenville. He was predeceased by a sister, Martha Elizabeth Moore and a brother, William David Moore. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, White Horse Road. Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Tal Garrett Sunday School Class. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon St., Greenville, SC 29605.
