Harry Donald Thompson

Harry D. Thompson, 82, widower of Margaret Marler Thompson, died Tuesday, September 06, 2005 at Hospice of the Upstate. Born in Fountain Inn, he was the son of the late William Henry and Melinda Stephens Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a retired auto mechanic and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Simpsonville. He was also a United States Army Veteran having served during WWII and the Korean War. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Don A. and Diane R. Thompson of Simpsonville; a daughter, Sandra Thompson of Simpsonville; a grandson, Ryan R. Thompson; a brother, Marion Thompson of Greenville; and a sister, Frances T. Marler of Fountain Inn. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Charles, and John Thompson, and three sisters, Marie T. Heaton, Grace T. Painter, and Ruby T. Wham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 08, 2005 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Graveside services will be conducted Friday, September 09, 2005 at 10:30 AM at Simpsonville City Cemetery.
