Hellen Pittman Bishop

Hellen Pittman Bishop, 83, of 7 Donaldson St., Greenville; died Wednesday, October, 4, 2006. Born in Greer; she was a daughter, of the late Thomas D. Pittman and Bertha Burrell Pittman Atkins. She was the wife of the late James H. ?Blackie? Bishop, Sr. Mrs. Bishop was a graduate of Jordan High School, class of 1941. She retired from J.P. Stevens Monaghan after forty years. She was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church, but attended City View First Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Bishop Clayton, and husband Wayne, Joan Bishop Jordan, and husband Cleveland, both of Greenville; two sons, James H. Bishop, Jr., of Greenville; Jeff Bishop, and wife Barbara, of Blue Ridge; a special friend, Kaye Wright, three sisters, Dorothy Sheppard, of Dacusville; Jean Elliott, of Greenville; and Jewell Rodgers, of Powdersville; two brothers, Ralph Pittman, of Westminister; and Louis Pittman, of Greenville; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Northwest on Saturday, from 1:00 pm 2:45 pm. Funeral services will be at the Northwest Chapel Saturday, at 3:00 pm.
Burial will be at Graceland West Cemetery. Memorials may be made to City View First Baptist Church, 2300 W. Blue Ridge Drive, Greenville, SC 29611 or Monaghan Baptist Church, 1500 W. Parker Road, Greenville, 29617 The family will be at the residence.
