Herbert Acker Roach

Herbert Acker Roach, 76, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2006. Born in Walhalla, SC, he was the husband of Leah Arbelle Hall Roach and a son of the late James Columbus and Lula Daisy Belle Jefferson Roach. Mr. Roach retired from Great Lakes Steel and Belk Simpson. He was a member of Berea First Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his loving wife, are three daughters, Deborah Woody, of Greenville, Pamela S. Babinchak, of Allen Park, MI and Col. Sara Phoenix, of Riverview, FL; a granddaughter, Morgan Thompson and a grandson, Kevin Nathaniel Acker Woody; a sister, Callie Gillison; three brothers, Dennis Roach, Roy Roach, and William Bill Roach. Funeral services will be held on Friday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest at 1:30 p.m. with visitation from 12 Noon ? 1:15 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Berea First Baptist Church Building Fund, 529 Farrs Bridge Road, Greenville, SC 29611. The family is at the residence.
