Hilda Lucille Madden

Hilda Lucille Eargle Madden, 84, wife of John E. Madden, Sr. died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Pendleton Manor. A native of Pomaria, she was the daughter of the late James Bennett and Myrtle Lucille Sligh Eargle. A graduate of Greenville General Hospital, School of Nursing, Mrs. Madden was a homemaker. She was a member of Sans Souci Baptist Church, where she was a former teacher in the children's Sunday school department and mission groups and was also a member of the WMU. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lue and Ronald Taylor of Greer; a son and daughter-in-law, John E. Jr. and Vicky Madden of Greenville; four grandchildren, Chris Taylor, Robin Taylor, Sean Madden and his wife, Courtney, Gray Madden and his wife, Kristen, and three great grandchildren, Morgan, Grayson and Ivey Madden. Memorials may be made to Sans Souci Baptist Church Mission Fund, 3100 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of John and Vicky Madden, 3 Overlook Court, Greenville.
