J.D. Harvey Cox, 68, of Travelers Rest, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late James Harvey and Essie Turner Cox. Mr. Cox was retired and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Matthews of Travelers Rest; siblings, Arletha Barker, Donna Carolyn Cox, Carl Cox and Stanley Cox. He was predeceased by two sisters, one brother and a granddaughter, Amanda Rose Matthews. Visitation will be Saturday, August 23, 2008 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Slater Church of God Cemetery, Marietta. The family will be at their respective homes.
