James A. Brown, Jr

James Alexander Brown, Jr., 86, formerly of 300 Hunt?s Bridge Road, died Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Westside Nursing Center. Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late James A. Brown, Sr. and Tecora Nations Brown. Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and retired as owner and operator of Piedmont Equipment Co. He was a member of Earle Street Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Ard Danny of Easley and Lin Cunningham Keith of Taylors; two sons, James Robert Brown Lorraine of Easley and Kenneth Brown of Greenville; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a first wife, Wilma Lewis Brown; a second wife, Marjorie McAdams Graves Brown; five sisters and four brothers. Services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Earle Street Baptist Church with visitation from 12 Noon ? 1:15 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Prater?s Creek Baptist Church in Pickens, SC. Memorials may be made to Earle Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 225 W. Earle Street, Greenville, SC 29609. The family is at their respective homes.
