James Bobby Gilstrap

James Bobby Gilstrap, 65, of 6 Janice Court, died Thursday, October 16, 2008
Born in Charleston, he was a son of the late James Guy and Burley Thomas Gilstrap.
Mr. Gilstrap was retired from VF Jeans Wear, and for many years was associated with Liberty Life Insurance Company. He attended Tremont Church of God and served in the US Navy Seabees, Construction Battalion 128, during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife of forty-five years, Judy Sanford Gilstrap; a daughter, Melissa G. Crowe and her husband, Guy; three grandchildren, Lauren Hunter West, James Tristan Crowe, Cheyenne C. Crowe, all of Greenville; a sister and special friend, Betty G. Eyerman and A.C. Wilson of Anderson; two brothers, Jimmy D. Gilstrap and his wife, Martha, of Easley; Tommy R. Gilstrap of Huntsville, AL; and his childhood friend, David N. McClain of Piedmont.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Clifford Gilstrap.
Visitation will be Friday, October 17, 2008 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
The funeral service will be Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Safe Harbor Children's Ministry at Tremont Church of God, 2854 New Easley Highway, Greenville, SC 29611.
The family will be at the residence.
