James David Roddy, Jr

August 9, 1944 - January 6, 2006
James David Roddy, Jr., 61, of 1208 Brushy Creek Road, husband of Hilda Hopkins Roddy, died Friday, January 06, 2005 at his residence. Born in Greenwood, SC., he was the son of the late James D. and Lois Sellers Roddy. Mr. Roddy was employed with Jacobs Engineering and was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors and the Becky Henderson Sunday School class. He was a member and Past Master of Judson Masonic Lodge #319, currently serving as Worthy Patron of the Empire Chapter #251 and a Past Grand Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star for the state of South Carolina. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Surviving in addition to his wife are a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Robert Moffatt of Taylors; two nephews, Chris Moffatt of Greer, David Moffatt of Virginia Beach, VA.; two aunts, Corris and Maria Sellers; two uncles, Willard Sellers and Donald Roddy; and his special pet, Fancy. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Association of South Carolina, 500 Taylor Street, Suite 101 Columbia, SC 29201. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 07, 2006 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 08, 2006 at 1:30 PM at Brushy Creek Baptist Church, Taylors. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence.
