James David Smith, 68, of Pickens, died Monday, March 10, 2008. Born in Walhalla, he was the husband of the late Judy Raines Smith. Mr. Smith retired from the US Air Force and St. Francis Hospital. He was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Diane Delaine of Hendersonville, NC, and Carol Ambrose of Pickens; a son, David Smith, of McAllen, TX; a sister; two brothers; five grandchildren; and a great grandchild. A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 10:30 am at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family is at their respective homes. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
