James Douglas McKinney

James D. Doug McKinney has passed away at the age of 91. Doug was a life long resident of Greenville County. He was a son of the late John A. and Fannie Doolin McKinney. He was an employee for many years of J.P. Stevens and a member of Monaghan Baptist Church. Doug was an avid sportsman and enjoyed being active. In his words ?God made such a beautiful world? which was meant to be enjoyed. He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Frances Wade McKinney; two daughters, Bonita Wellington of Greensboro, NC and Joan Beaumont of Greenville; two grandchildren, Allison Roberts of Fredericksburg, VA and Jon Black of Greenville; and three great grandchildren, Connor, Jenna, and Braden Roberts of Fredericksburg, VA. Doug is also survived by brothers, Ralph, William, and Clyde McKinney of Greenville, Edward McKinney of Pensacola, FL, and John McKinney of Anderson, CA; and a sister, Elizabeth Taylor of Sandston, VA. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery, West with the Rev. Barry Dilworth officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 ? 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
