James E. Looper, Sr., 64, of 1101 Hanover Road, Anderson, SC, died Saturday, March 3, 2007. Born in Greenville, he was a son of Eunice Matthews Looper of Greenville and the late James Wesley Looper. Mr. Looper retired from Bell South after twenty-nine years of service. He was a charter member of Berea Friendship United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Jacquetta Jones Looper, of the home; a daughter, Rebecca Henthorne and husband D. Michael, of Anderson; a daughter-in-law, Marla W. Looper, of Anderson; a son, James E. Looper, Jr. and special friend Stacey Dennis, of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Joan L. Zepf and Stella L. Schaefer, both of Greenville; a brother, Marcus Looper and wife Linda, of Greenville; an aunt, June L. Dean, of Greenville; an uncle, Clayton Looper and wife Frances, of Easley; and four grandchildren, Allyson Elizabeth Henthorne, Anna James Henthorne, Sara Mical Henthorne, and Jordan Lee Henthorne. Memorial service will be conducted Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 3:00 pm at Berea Friendship United Methodist Church with visitation from 1:30 ? 3:00 pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Crohn?s & Colitis Foundation of America, Honor & Memorial Gifts, 386 Park Avenue South, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10016-8804.
