James Everette Pittman, Sr

James Everette Pittman, Sr., 84, 223 Farrs Bridge Road, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 08, 2005. He was born on October 4, 1921 and was pre-deceased by his parents. He was retired from Burlington Industries at Poe Mill and Carolina Plating of Greenville. Mr. Pittman is survived by his wife, Margaret Pittman, of the home; two children, Sandy P. Ernest of Greenville, and Jimmy Pittman and wife Bonnie of Simpsonville; a sister, Lois Barton, of Greenville; a stepson, Rick Ballenger and wife Beth of Simpsonville. Also, Duane Ballenger, of Greenville, who was raised in the home. He had five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Pittman was a very dear and devoted member of Berea First Baptist Church where he was presently serving as Trustee. He was a former Deacon, Director and Teacher of the Sr. Adult Sunday School. He was loved by all and will truly be missed. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and was a World War II Veteran. Also, he was a member of Sam Poe 284 Masonic Lodge and the Berea Lions Club. He was an avid lover of flowers and enjoyed working and sharing his small garden. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the Doctors, Nurses and loyal friends who have been so helpful during the illness of Mr. Pittman. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 ? 9:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Services will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Berea First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Berea First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the residence.
