James Howard Crowe, Sr

James Howard Crowe, Sr., 79, of 64 Maxie Avenue, died on Sunday, January 1, 2006. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Lee Thomas and Eula Streetman Crowe. Mr. Crowe served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from Triangle Construction after forty years of service. He was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Wells Crowe, of the home; two daughters, Susan C. Sheppard and husband Woodrow of Laurens, and Carol C. Buko and husband Thomas of Easley; two sons, David Lee Crowe and wife Patricia of Pickens, and James Howard ?Howie? Crowe, Jr. and wife Rose Mary of Greenville; two sisters, Nancy Evans of Piedmont, and Shelby Garrett of Easley; three brothers, Guy Thomas Crowe of Massachusetts, Coy Crowe of Piedmont, and Roy Crowe of Downey, CA; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Dutschke, Bradley Sheppard, Michelle Porterfield, James H. ?Jamie? Crowe, III, Tyler Crowe, Robin Foster, Rachel Buko, and Anna Buko; and five great grandchildren, Hayden Dutschke, Trey Foster, Taylor Foster, Conner Foster, and Savannah Porterfield. He is predeceased by three sisters and a brother. Services will be held on Thursday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest at 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:30 ? 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605 or the charity of one?s choice. The family is at the residence.
