James “Jim” Allen Cox

January 21, 1943 - August 24, 2005
James ?Jim? Allen Cox, 62, of 110 C&K Drive, husband of Nancy Cox, died Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at Anderson Area Medical Center. Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late James Toy and Bessie Mae Bailey Cox. Mr. Cox was retired from Michelin and was a former Greenville City Police Officer. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter and son-in-law, Mandy and Shawn Cutting of Simpsonville; three step-sons, Tyra Andrews of High Point, NC., Randy Andrews of Belton, Anthony Andrews and his wife Melinda of Easley; a sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Red Brigman of Fountain Inn; three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya Renee Cox. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Elevator Fund, 14 Deering Street, Greenville, SC 29605. Visitation will be held Friday, August 26, 2005 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 1:30 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.
