James Kemp Baber, Sr

April 22, 1929 - January 28, 2006
James Kemp Baber, Sr., 76, of 14 Auburn Street, died Saturday, January 28, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in South Charleston, W. VA, Mr. Baber was the husband of Carolyn M. Baber, and the son of the late Robert B., Sr. and Ella Baber. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was retired from Greenville County where he was an Internal Auditor. He was a member of Hampton Park Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Baber is survived by two daughters, Ann Boiter and her husband, Mike of Greenville, and Joy Rainey and her husband, Jeff of Greer, SC; two sons, Jim Baber and his wife, Ann of Greenville and David Baber and his wife, Lauren of Taylors; seven grandchildren, Phillip Rainey, Gina Hayes, Michele and Todd Boiter, Grayson and Austen Baber, and Justin Baber; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Paul Baber of Mechanicsville, VA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Baber, Jr. and a sister, Kathleen Arnold. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be held from 2:00 ? 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence.
