James Leroy Leathers, 71, of 402 W. Main Street, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Johnny and Ernestine Batson Cooper. Mr. Leathers was of the Baptist faith and was a United States Army Veteran. Surviving are five first cousins, Laura Long of Piedmont, Lee Smith of Greenville, George Smith of Greer, and Irvin Smith of Iva, and Helen Abbott of Charleston, SC. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 310-B Bennett Center Drive, Greer, SC 29650. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
