James Michael Enloe, 83, devoted husband of 44 years to the late Carmen Edith Montes Enloe, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late James and Frances Callahan Enloe.
Jimmy and Carmen met in Miami, FL before moving to Charleston, where they married, and then settled in Greenville.
Jimmy retired from Greenville Hospital System as an Energy Master after over 20 years of service. After retirement, he purchased Jimco Convenience Store in the Dunean community, which he ran for many years.
He was a member of Grove Station Masonic Lodge #166 and Scottish Rites and was a Hejaz Shriner. Jimmy was a long time member of Dunean Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, as well as fishing and boating on Lake Hartwell.
His legacy will forever be cherished in the hearts of his step-children, Angel Rios and Jacquelyn “Jackie” Centeno Garcia and husband, Luis, all of Greenville; three precious step-granddaughters, Stephanie Garcia, Kelly Vaughn and fiancé, Gabriel Trincado, and Alexandra Garcia; two step-great-grandsons, Julian Trincado and Demetris R. Johnson, Jr.
In addition to his parents and loving wife, Carmen, Jimmy was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Nereida Rosie Vaughn; and step-grandson, James Allen Vaughn.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. The burial will be held on Thursday March 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Live Oak Memorial Gardens in Charleston, SC.
