James Phillip Cox, (Phil), 67, of Greenville, SC, loving husband of Teresa Lockwood Cox, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 4, 2021.

Born in Anderson, SC, he was the second son of Jo Ann Edmonds Cox and the late James Furman Cox.

In addition to his wife and mother, Phil is survived by two daughters, Emily Welsh (John), and Whitney Tate (Ryan); son, Phillip Cox (Laura); two brothers, Bruce Cox (Barbara), and Ted Cox (Laura); four granddaughters, Virginia Welsh, Lizzie Welsh, Katy Cox, and Madelyn Tate; two grandsons, Cooper Tate, and Spencer Cox; and his beloved dog, Carly.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 200 West Washington Street, Greenville, SC 29601.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church building campaign.

**Guests are required to follow CDC guidelines to social distance and are required to wear mask. **

So sorry to hear about Phil. He was a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor. He was lots of fun to work with at First Greensboro Home Equity. My thoughts & prayers are with his family at this time.

My family sends our Love and Heart filled Condolences to your Family and Carly. We will miss Mr. Phil every morning walking Carly and our conversations. I saw Phil and Teresa in September. After a wonderful visit Peter and I got in the car and both said, "What a great guy Phil is.". So grateful we had a chance to see him. Prayers for everyone. Love to all.
