James Ray Bone, 62, of 1044 McKelvey Rd., Pelzer, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 1:55 pm at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Surrounded by his loving family, James slipped quietly and peacefully from Charlene's arms into the arms of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. James was a Christian and he loved the Lord. Born in Gainesville, GA, he was the son of the late Walter and Jessie Bell Bone. Mr. Bone served his country in the US Navy. James loved reading the Bible and good preaching. He was a charter member of the former Liberty Baptist Church in Moonville. He was an avid street rod fan and his favorite past time was working on his '32 Ford Street rod. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bone worked in waste water treatment with Kemet, Inc. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife and best friend, Charlene "C.T." Bone; daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Craig Brunson of Ridgeville; son and daughter-in-law, David and Teresa Bone of Simpsonville; five sisters, Ann Amos Stover, Madeline Akins both of Gainesville, GA, Sara Lamar Grier of Lula, GA, Mira Dennis Eubanks of Greenville, and Winnie Jack Gresham of Piedmont; three brothers, Grady Betty Bone of Anderson, Thomas Bone of Goose Creek, and Robert Vera Bone of Travelers Rest; six grandchildren, Lauren, Daniel, Lindsey and Stephen Bone and Matthew and Andrew Brunson; and many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to Pam Conklin, RN and Rev. Roger Plemmons for the care that was shown during James' illness. Visitation will be held Monday from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am in the Downtown Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of Winnie and Jack Gresham, 98 Log Shoals Rd., Piedmont.
