James Ray ?J.R.? McKinney, 64, of 222 Vintage Avenue, husband of Carolyn Donita Holley McKinney, died Thursday, March 1, 2007 at his residence. Born in Booneville, MS., he was the son of Ray and Helen Faye Brown McKinney of Booneville, MS. Mr. McKinney was retired from Blue Bell Inc. and was a member of Glendale Baptist Church, Mauldin. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 44 years and his parents, are a daughter, Amanda C. McKinney of Greenville; two sons, Brent McKinney of Greer, Gareth McKinney of Simpsonville; three sisters, Shirley Shelton of Tupelo, MS., Sara Moore of Ridgeland, MS., and Kara Chase of Booneville, MS.; a brother, Johnny McKinney of Corinth, MS.; and five grandchildren, Kendall, Shelby, Tyler, Chelsey and Ashley McKinney. Memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartanburg Blvd., Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29301 or Glendale Baptist Church, 212 E. Butler Road, Mauldin, SC 29662. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 3, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence.
