James Russell Cox

James Russell Cox, 79, of 130 Tanglewood Drive, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 at Hospice of the Upstate. Born February 4, 1928, in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Fred and Beatrice Cox. He was the husband of the late Sarah Madden Cox, whom he spent 53 wonderful years with. He was a retired supervisor for Crown Zellerbach and a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church. He served in the Korean and WWII in the United States Navy from 1945-1951. He was previously deceased by a brother, Edward Cox, and two sisters, Lucille Wells and Elizabeth Rowland. Left to cherish his memories are his son, Terry Cox, of Easley; two granddaughters, Stacie Cox and Ashley Cox, of Powdersville. Other special family includes a sister-in-law, Margie Young, of Greenville; a niece, Lisa Edwards, of Anderson; a nephew, Greg Young, of Easley; and numerous other loving family members. Funeral services will be October 4, 2007 at 12 Noon at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, with burial in Graceland West Cemetery. Visitation will be October 4, 2007 from 10:30 ? 11:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. The family is at their respective homes.
