Janice Charping ?Jan? Colston, 65, of 219 Sandpiper Way, died February 1, 2007, at home after a four year battle with breast cancer. Born in Elbert County, Georgia, on September 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Roy Charping and Ceceil Daniel Charping. She was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. She retired from Neurology Associates of Greenville, P.A., in March 2006 after fifteen years of service as business manager. Previously, she was an employee of Elliott Davis & Company for thirteen years. She genuinely enjoyed her long career, having the opportunity to work with many special people, and forming numerous rewarding and lasting friendships over the years. Surviving are her devoted and loving husband of 46 years, Freddie D. Colston; a beloved daughter, Dana M. Colston of Greenville; two sisters, Betty Hulme of Lithia Springs, GA; June Gulley and her husband, Fred, of Iva, SC; a niece, Tessie Warren of Douglasville, GA; a nephew, Bryan Gulley of Washington, DC, and two great nephews, Spencer Warren and David Warren of Douglasville, GA. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Sunday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m., on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Bethel United Methodist Church, Building Fund, c/o Neal Floyd, 2872 Green Acres Road, Elberton, GA 30635. The family is at the residence.
