Jean K. Whiteside

November 29, 1930 - February 23, 2008
Annie Jean King Whiteside, 77, of 559 Miller Road, died Saturday, February 23, 2008. A Greenville native, Mrs. Whiteside was the wife of James D. Whiteside and the daughter of the late Thomas Eugene and Annie Vaughn King. She was a homemaker and retired from Kemet. She was a life long member of Mauldin United Methodist Church where she taught children's Sunday School. She was also very active in Girl Scouts. In addition to her loving husband of 54 years, she is survived by a daughter, Susan W. Price of Simpsonville, and a son, James A. "Jimmy" Whiteside of Greenville; two grandchildren, Amanda P. Reininger and her husband, Jeff of Mauldin, and James Cale Whiteside of Fountain Inn; and a sister, Louise K. Bagwell and her husband, James of Mauldin. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary K. Corn and Sara K. Burns. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2008 at Mauldin United Methodist Church, with visitation prior to the service from 1:30 until 3:15 p.m. in the Son Room. Burial will be at Mauldin United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Boys Home of the South, 10312 Augusta Road, Belton, SC 29627 or Epworth Children's Home, P.O. Box 50466, Columbia, SC 29250-9988.
