Jean Moody Carson

Jean Bryant Moody Carson, 85, devoted wife of the late Robert “Bobby” Carson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Haskell Leroy “Roy” and Gladys Bryant.

Jean met the love of her life, Gil as teenagers while at church. They were married for over 44 loving years. She loved her family with all her heart and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.

Jean was a dedicated lifelong member of the Edgewood Church of Christ. She retired after 20 years as the Clerk of Court for the City of Greenville.

Jean’s legacy will continue on in the hearts of her two children, Vicki Stephens and husband, Mack, Gilmer O’Neal “Neal” Moody, Jr.; three wonderful grandchildren, Abbie Richey (Clint), Katie Porter (Josh), Emilie Westmoreland (Brandon); six great-grandchildren, Harper, Hayden, and Mac Richey, Mary and Dean Porter, and Carson Westmoreland.

Jean not only loved her own children, but often considered her kids friends as her own.

In addition to her parents Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilmer O. Moody, Sr., and her second husband of nine years, Robert “Bobby” Carson; and her beloved sister, Sybil Bryant.

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Edgewood Church of Christ followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery West.
