Jean O. Stegall

Jean O. Stegall, 93, widow of Paul Stegall, died Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Born in Pickens, SC, she was the daughter of the late George and Dessie Brezeale O’Shields.

Mrs. Stegall retired from Westcliffe Elementary School, where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a faithful member of Berea First Baptist Church for over 60 years.

Jean leaves behind her four children, Phil Stegall (Alice), Alan Stegall (Lori), Kay Stegall Miller (Richard), Chris Stegall (Carla); six grandchildren, Anna, Paul, Karen (Sudan), Mitchell, Elliot, and Meredith; four siblings, Grace Dickard (Lloyd), Juanita Dancy, Paul O’Shield and Martha Bates; a brother-in-law, J.W. Gilstrap and a sister-in-law, Betty O’Shields.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, G.W., Bobby and Harold O’Shields and a sister, Mildred Gilstrap.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson.
