Jeanne Mawson Keene

Jeanne Mawson Robinson Keene, 85, widow of Bruce Richard Keene, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Clifton and Emma Mathieu Robinson. Mrs. Keene was a retired Registered Nurse from St. Francis Hospital, and served as a First Lieutenant in the Army Nurses Corps during World War II. She was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was a member of Botany Woods Garden Club. "Grammy" was active in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Linda L. Keene of North Myrtle Beach, and Deborah Ann Keene Duncan and husband Ted of Blythewood; two sons, Bruce Richard Keene, Jr. and wife, Pam, of St. Pete Beach, FL and Stuart Mathieu Keene and wife, Kim, of Greenville; a twin sister, Lorraine Mathieu Robinson of Wichita Falls, TX; and four grandchildren, Stuart Graham Baker, Cooper Harrison Baker, Brittani Elaine Keene, and Kyle Mathieu Keene. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon St., Greenville, SC 29605. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 6, 2008 at 5 p.m. with visitation following until 8 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. There will be a private committal service on Saturday. The family will be at their respective homes.
