Jeannine Inez Savage passed away in Greenville, South Carolina on February 2, 2024 at the age of 91. Jeannine was born in Danville, Illinois on December 17, 1932 and was the daughter of the late M. Verne and Opal Owens Courtney.
Jeannine received her Associates Degree in 1952 and then relocated with her sister, Anita to Southern California, where Jeannine met and married her husband of more than 60 years, Charles (“Chuck”) M. Savage, Jr. His career with Mobil Oil took them to New York, where Jeannine worked for many years as Assistant Court Clerk for the Town of Bedford. She and Chuck returned to Fallbrook, California to retire in 1992. After Chuck passed away in 2016, Jeannine moved to the upstate of South Carolina to be closer to daughter Holly and family.
Jeannine’s lifelong interests included volunteering, singing in the church choir, playing bingo, cooking, gardening and reading. She was especially dedicated to the Women’s Auxiliary at Fallbrook Hospital and the Angel Society/Thrift Store of Fallbrook.
Jeannine is survived by daughter, Holly Snyder (Bill); granddaughter, Heather Snyder of New York; and grandson, George Snyder of Georgia. In addition to her beloved husband of 60 plus years, Jeannine was preceded in death by daughter, Jill Savage-Carlton; sister, Anita Bradford; and brother, Ted Courtney.
