Jeffrey Scott Cummings, 78, passed peacefully in his sleep on March 22, 2024. Born in Albany, New York, on March 12, 1946, he was the son of the late James and Elsie Sylvester Cummings. Raised on the cherished family farm where he learned hard work, dedication and gentleness that he carried with him through his long life. He would go on to join the United States Air Force at the young age of 22 where he’d go to serve 20 honorable years before retiring.
He’d meet his beloved wife, Kay Cummings, on a blind date where they would get to enjoy 54 years of youthful love and never-ending warmth as their family grew from their two daughters, Paige Morley married to Scott Morley, who blessed him with his first grand-children, Jeffrey and Courtney Morley. Elaine Barbrey would soon bless him with his third grand-child, Kathryn Barbrey. Shortly after to be blessed by his first great grand-child, Willow Morley.
Through years of military base hopping from the tropical heats of Guam to the Northern state of Massachusetts. He saw the world in the best and worst seasons, enjoying his spare free time out of the driver’s seat with his passion for race-cars and his stead-fast music taste locked in the 60’s. A memorial will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 6:30 pm. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast. His honor detail will be held at the M.J. Dolly Cooper Cemetery in Anderson, South Carolina at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that any memorials blessed to our family be made to Greenville Animal Care, 328 Furman Hall Rd Building A, Greenville, SC 29609.
