Jerry Lynn Copeland

Jerry L. Copeland, 84, devoted husband of over 60 years, to the late Kathleen Howard Copeland, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

Born in Brady, TX, he was one four children born to the late Charles Emmett and Lola Frances Brock Copeland.

For 20 years, Jerry proudly served in the United State Air Force, serving two of those years in Vietnam. He was the Secretary and Treasurer of VFW Post 1845.
He retired from Michelin Tire Company after 25 years and was a faithful member of Mauldin First Baptist Church.

Jerry was the past President and Treasurer of Golden Strip Shrine Club. As a Shriner, he was very active. He participated in several units, The Roadrunner, Car, Greeters, Jokers, and the Air Squadron Unit. He made 292 trips to Greenville Hospital and 89 trips to Cincinnati, Ohio.

His memory will forever be treasured in the hearts of close family friends, Nick and Laura Pliaconis; and their “grandson”, Andy Pliaconis.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown with the funeral to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
