Jesse Dewey Stephens

Jesse Dewey Stephens, 86, of 40 Templewood Drive, husband of Mary Tannery Stephens, died Monday, May 28, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Oconee County, he was the son of the late Henry Joe and Dollie P. Sargent Stephens. Mr. Stephens was retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of Oak Crest Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Margaret S. Noble of Easley; a son, John D. Stephens of Pelzer; a sister, Fannie Belle Rumsey of Anderson; a brother, Jack Stephens of Piedmont; two grandchildren, Thomas S. Noble and Michelle Noble Nivens; four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty S. Fowler and a grandson, Joey A. Noble. Memorials may be made to Oak Crest Baptist Church, 1 Alabama Avenue, Greenville, SC 29611. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home.
