Jesse Parker Taylor Harris, Jr

Jesse Parker Taylor ?J.P? Harris, Jr., 80, was taken to his eternal rest by our wise and loving heavenly Father on August 29, 2005. Born in Vaughan, NC., he was the son of the late Jesse Parker Taylor Harris, Sr. and Annie Laurie Pegram Harris. A graduate of NC State, his career in Mechanical Engineering spanned a period of fifty years. He began his career with JP Stevens in Roanoke Rapids, NC. and ended it with J.D. Hollingsworth. He was a Christian man who served his Lord as a member of Eastlan Baptist Church. He was also a United States Navy Veteran having served during WWII. He was blessed with a caring wife who survives him, Sadie Ann Harris of the home. God blessed him with children; a daughter, Marjorie Jane Harris; a step-daughter, Janet Smith; a son, Bruce Parker Harris; grandchildren, Lydia Ruth Harris, David Samuel Harris, Timothy Andrew Harris, Emily Faye Harris, Tad Smith, and Morgan Smith; two brothers, James Warren Harris, Walter Henderson Harris; and a sister, Virginia Harris Lee. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Jane Harris. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastlan Baptist Church, 625 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC or SEND International, PO Box 513, Farmington, MI. 48322, for Okutama Bible Chalet Ministry in Japan. Funeral services will be conducted August 31, 2005 at 1:30 PM at Eastlan Baptist Church. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the church in the Greeting Hall. Burial will take place at Brown?s Baptist Church in Warren County, NC on Friday, September 02, 2005. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
