Jimmie Gray Barnette, 87, husband of the late Doris Langley Barnette, died Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

Born in Taylors, he was the son of the late Fred and Lula Mae Bowers Barnette.

A United States Naval Reserves veteran, Mr. Barnette was a member and Deacon of Woodside Baptist Church. He was the director of the Westside Crisis Center for the last 20 years. During the first half of his career, Jim worked in electronics sales and repairs. The second half of his career until retirement was in the local hardware sales business.

He is survived by his daughter Wendy Hall and her husband, Randy; a grandson, Grayson Hall.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Barnette.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be held in Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Westside Crisis Center, 301 Woodside Ave, Greenville, SC 29611.
