John Franklin Palmer

John Franklin Palmer received his healing on September 18, 2007 after a brave 20-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Joyce D. Palmer.
He was a son of Hazel Pettit Palmer Sellars and the late John Tillman Palmer and stepson of Smith LeRoy Sellars all of Pauline, SC.
Mr. Palmer was the owner of Greenbrier Construction and Greenbrier Farms, a business he started 20 years ago. He was a 1966 graduate of Clemson University where he earned his BS in Civil Engineering and he served in the US Army and National Guard from 1966-1972. He was a member of Dacusville United Methodist Church, where he was a past chairman of the administrative board. He also served on numerous local, community and county associations. Along with his wife, Mr. Palmer is survived by two sisters, Jan Moss and her husband, Rodney, of Spartanburg, SC, and Toni Lindler and her husband, Ed, of Knoxville, TN; two brothers Bert Sellars and his wife, Starr, of Big Canoe, GA, and Lee A. Sellars and his wife, Cathy, of Pauline, SC; two sisters in law, Eula Hood Palmer Bridges of Boiling Springs, SC, and Barbara Tippett and her husband, Mark, of Greer.
Nieces and nephews, Cappie Sellars of Madison, WI, David and Wendy Fisher of Cummings, GA, Scott and Page Lindler of Atlanta, GA, Chuck and Kriste Lindler of Evans, GA, Cassie and Chris Green of Pauline, SC, Brooks Tippett of Greenwood Lake, NY, Bianca and Steve West and Chad and Amy Bishop all of Greenville; seven great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Benjamin Ryan Tillman and Fannie Shands Palmer, and Andrew Harlan and Ruth Allen Pettit; and a brother, Dennis R. Palmer.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. ? 10:45 a.m.
